Pakistan/Terrorism: Police foils plot at Lahore hotel

Pakistan police announced on Monday that it had foiled a terrorist attack aster arresting six suspected terrorists, including a potential suicide bomber. Police also seized four hand grenades, five detonators and a, explosive-jacket during the operation, which was conducted following a tip-off.
 
According to security sources, they had planned to attack a five-star hotel Pearl Continental Hotel of Punjab capital Lahore and to kill Americans. Senior police superintendent Zulfikar Hameed said the purpose of the terrorists was to provoke large-scale death and devastation.”

Security sources stated that the 6 terrorists had been trained in the Khyber Tribal Agency, alongside the Afghan border.
